Older versions of android OS didn’t have an easy way to take screenshots on android. In addition, android is fragmented with phone features mostly depend on manufacturers. It is difficult to find a way to take screenshot on android devices.
With android 4 you can easily take a screenshots. Pressing, holdingvolume down, and click on power button simultaneously for a second or two. You will see a notification message on the screen saying “Screen Captured and saved as image”. You will see the screen flash and hear sound like camera shutter.
You will find the new screenshots in screen capture folder in your gallery. Now open your screenshot image you can share and send it as regular photo via email, Bluetooth etc.
It can’t work if you try to capture screen inside games or any apps, you can try above apps of android.
It should work if you upgraded your mobile to ICS from older version of android.
Galaxy S3 mobile has another technique to take a screenshot. Swipe your palm across the phone screen to take screenshot. Before that, you need to turn on this option in Hand Motion settings.
If you have older version of android like 2.2 or 2.3 Gingerbread etc, You have to use screen capture apps for taking screenshots except for few phones.
If you have non-rooted mobile with android 2.3 or earlier, you might have to use android sdk except for non-rooted phones. It is not easy if you need to install android sdk just for taking screenshots. For Samsung Galaxy S2 and some other phones, press and hold home and power buttons at the same time to take screenshots.
If you have rooted phone, you can choose free or paid android apps to screenshot your android phon. You can use Screenshot UX app , Screenshot It app for taking screenshots.
